WHAT IS UMRAH?

Umrah is a journey that Muslims take to Makkah. Unlike Hajj, which has a specific time, Umrah can be done any time of the year. It involves doing certain acts of worship, including Tawaf (walking around the Kaaba) and Sa’i (walking between the hills of Safa and Marwa).

Do I need a visa for my Umrah?

Yes, a valid visa is required for visiting Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for Umrah. You can obtain Umrah visa through an approved agent or opt for electronic visa waiver visa or E-Visa for performing Umrah. However, you will need a Hajj visa approved by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to visit KSA for Hajj.

How long does it take to perform Umrah?

Umrah is a relatively short process that will only take a few hours to complete. But stay for 3-6 nights in Makkah so you can visit other important religious sites as well.

Can I get direct flights to Saudi Arabia from the UK?

You can get direct flights with British Airways and Saudi Arabian Airlines.

Umrah visa price UK is usually between £115 and £190.

Do I need a visa for my Umrah?

You can only visit Makkah, Medina and Jeddah with it.

Can I extend the duration of my Umrah visa?

No, it can’t be extended once you have received your visa.

Are there any specific requirements for female pilgrims applying for a Hajj visa?

Women can only perform Hajj if accompanied by a male Mahram. Therefore, they must prove that the male is a Mahram by adding proof of kinship in the application. Moreover, a woman above 45 can perform Hajj without a Mahram but in a group. In such a case, she must provide proof of no objection by her Mahram, which can be her son, brother or husband.

Can I perform Hajj with a tourist visa?

To perform Hajj, you need a separate visa. It cannot be done on a tourist visa. With a Hajj visa, you can only visit Makkah, Medina and Jeddah.

How much time does the Hajj take?

It can take 5-6 days to complete.

What are the dates of Hajj?

It begins on the 8th of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and ends on the 13th.

How much time can I spend in Saudi Arabia with a Hajj visa?

Once you have performed the Hajj, you must leave Saudi Arabia. The latest you should leave is by the 10th of Muharram.
